What happens when Facebook decides to integrate their ads with FB Messenger?

You get to connect with clients right away!  

You get to create a message that will go right to their inbox so you can start a conversation as soon as they click.  Pretty sweet, right?

How does it work?  How do you set it up?  Thought you’d never ask!

Here I walk you through it step by step.

#1. Go to “Ads Creation” in Ads Manager or Power Editor and choose “traffic” as an objective.

#2. Name your campaign, hit continue and then lock in your audience, budget and placement.

I’ve got several audiences saved so that saves me time when it’s time to actually run an ad.  If you don’t have a saved audience, you can create your audience right here on this screen.

Always start your ad with a lower budget for testing.  You can test with as little as $5 a day but most experts recommend testing with at least $10 per day for the first few days.

With this new messenger ad, you won’t be able to serve your ads to Instagram.

For placement, I always start out with “News Feed” placement only.  Once I have a winner, I’ll also serve it up on the sidebar.

Personally, I’ve never had any luck with “ad networks” but I have heard of (rarely) people who use it with results.

#3. Choose your ad format.  You can choose carousel, single image, video or slideshow.

Do what works best for your market and your audience.

#4. Select the page you want the ad to be associated with.  If you only have one page, it automatically picks it for you.

#5. Choose “messenger” as your destination.

This is where you get to craft a welcome message, right to their inbox!

When people click on your ad, they will get a copy of your ad and the welcome message.

#6.  Place your order!

#7.  SUCCESS!! You did it!
